Seajet Express Inc. was founded in 1987
by Ronald W. Hiemann

Ronald
W. Hiemann was born in 1952 in Bremen, Germany.
After successfully completing a typical 3 years apprenticeship with Max
Gruenhut Spedition in Bremen, Germany, Ronald obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management and International
Transportation Logistics in 1968. Until 1975 he was the Station Manager of
the Gruenhut air freight office in Bremen. In early 1975 the company
presented a new challenge by offering Ronald a new position connected with a
move to America. In May of 1975 he emigrated to the USA and became the U.S.
representative of the German air freight organization. In this position he acted as a
troubleshooter traveling around the USA to visit branch offices and agents. A new job opportunity presented itself in
1979, when Ronald was appointed President of Max Gruenhut International Inc.,
stationed in Boston. Following some corporate changes including the sale of
the formerly family owned Max Gruenhut company to Bowater Industries in
England, Ronald resigned his position in 1987 and went on to found Seajet Express Inc., specializing in Far East import forwarding services.
Gabriele
E. Hiemann was born in 1960 nearby Stuttgart,
Germany. After completing a typical German apprenticeship, she obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management and International
Transportation Logistics in 1980. Before she moved to the USA in 1984, Gabi
held management positions in
Germany with Kuno Bart Spedition as well as Birkart Spedition. In 1984 she
accepted a job offer from Max Gruenhut and moved to Boston to join the local
Gruenhut office. When the export manager left the company, Gabi was given
the opportunity to move-up into that position. Gabi joined Seajet as a
managing partner in May of 1988, to set-up and manage the air and ocean
exports forwarding division. Gabriele Hiemann assumed new responsibilities
at Seajet in 1999 when she was promoted to Financial Controller/VP Finance.
Andreas Bauermeister
was born in 1958 in Hamburg, Germany.
After completing a typical German apprenticeship, he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management and International
Transportation Logistics in 1980. The same year he also moved to the USA to work
for Max Gruenhut in Miami. He went on to become the Export Manager of the
Max Gruenhut office in Boston, where he worked for Ronald Hiemann. About a
year after having moved to Boston, he was presented with a job offer from LEP which meant moving to New York city. Andreas went on to become a V.P. of
Operations for LEP\Profit in Atlanta where he stayed until 1993, when he joined Seajet in July of 1993.
He became a partner
one year later.

Michael J. Caseley was born 1952 in
South Africa. He received a BSc degree from the University of
Cape Town. Started career with Mobil Oil and moved in 1979 to
the Lep Group. Transferred to the USA in 1985 and has held
various management positions within the group with the latest
being Regional Vice President of the Northeast USA. Joined
Seajet in Jan 1998 to
develop the New
York metro business and became a partner in 2000.
