More Trouble
In
Southern China!

Dear Customers and Friends of Seajet!

I am afraid I have some more bad news in regards to shipping from Southern China.

As if things have not been difficult enough, there is now a truckers strike in the ports of Yantian and Shekou which are the main ports in Guangdong province (Southern China/close to Hong Kong).

We have received notification of this overnight from our office in Shenzhen.

Truck drivers are striking in an effort to negotiate better salaries and the strike may last through tomorrow or possibly longer.

The immediate effect is that many shipments for which space was secured under difficult circumstances may now never make it onto the intended vessel as truckers will not be able to make the deliveries within the terminal cut off dates.

This will most likely add to the already enormous backlogs in the ports of Yantian and Shekou and by extension possibly Hong Kong.

We will advise you as soon as we have additional information.

Sincerely yours,

Andreas Bauermeister,
President
