EUROPE to USA
Update
No. 2
MSC
GENERAL RATE INCREASE
Effective 1 April 2010

Dear Customers and Friends of Seajet!

In mid February we distributed information about the freight rate increases announced for April and indicated that MSC had yet to confirm their new rates.

MSC sent their notification to the trade a couple of days ago and confirmed the following rate increases.

$400 per 20ft container

$500 per 40ft container

Furthermore, the BAF/BUC (bunker fuel) surcharges will be adjusted as following.

$153 per 20ft and $306 per 40ft container for the remainder of March.

$145 per 20ft and $290 per 40ft container starting in April.

Along with sending this announcement, our European colleagues reminded us again, that all vessel are now  booked solid from week to week and that considerable delays should be anticipated when booking freight.

At the present time, the delay can be as long as 3 weeks. Meaning, if you book  a container today, the earliest available sailing / departure date may be 3 weeks  from now!

Space is very tight and over-bookings are now common!

Sincerely yours,

Ronald W. Hiemann, CEO
