FAR EAST IMPORT ALERT

Dear Customer:

Space on carriers from the Far East (China in particular) is very tight at the moment and the reasons are as follows:

1) May 1, 2006 General Rate Increase (GRI)

Carriers have announced a GRI but it is to be seen if the market will sustain such an increase. However, it is widely believed that if any services will see an increase it will be All Water Services (AWS) due to their dependability and lower pricing.

2) May 1 - 7, 2006 Chinese National Holiday/Labor Day.

Mainland China will shut down work during that week.

3) Stronger than expected imports from China

Year to date figures between 2005 and 2006 suggest a 7.5% increase in container traffic through Los Angeles/Long Beach alone. Increases through other ports are estimated to be even higher.

In anticipation of 1) and 2) many exporters in Asia have pushed their productions as much as possible to ship their goods prior to May 1. As a result especially COSCO with direct service to Boston has been overbooked for weeks and is now faced with serious backlogs in all main Chinese ports including Hong Kong. As always, Yantian and Qingdao are especially hard hit.

In case that Seajet and/or its partners cannot secure bookings on COSCO to Boston due to the current backlog (anticipated to remain for about 2 weeks) we shall make alternative arrangements with Mini-Land-Bridge carriers in order to not delay your freight. We shall advise you of such alternative routings whenever possible as usual but suggest that you may want to ask your suppliers to book as much in advance as possible. The earliest bookings will have the greatest chance to be accepted and the earliest deliveries to the pier will have the greatest chance to not be rolled over to the following week.

Seajet and its partners have contracts with 11 carriers, so securing a booking will not be a problem, however getting a booking with the carrier of choice, especially on All Water routes may prove more difficult in the next couple of weeks.

As always we thank you for your business and welcome any questions that you may have.

Best regards,

Andreas
