Late April 2006 |
Alert: China shuts down for one week
Dear Customers: As most of you probably already know from your suppliers or from our previous sending (April 14, 2006) mainland China will be off during the week of May 1st as part of the Labor Day holiday celebrations. As a result there will be no cargo bookings during that week and some freight will be delayed by another week due to sailing schedules and cut off times following the week after the holiday. This will impact our consolidation service from Shanghai. The details for the last consolidated sailing prior to the holiday are: Booking Cut off: 04/24 - AMS Cut off: 04/26 - Docs and Cargo Cut off: 04/26 - ETD Shanghai: 04/29 - ETA Boston: 06/01 The details for the first consolidated sailing after the holiday are: Booking Cut off: 05/08 - AMS Cut off: 05/11 - Docs and Cargo Cut off: 05/11 - ETD Shanghai: 05/16 - ETA Boston: 06/14 At this time it is too early to know if we shall have to skip a departure from Hong Kong as well as we are not sure what the impact will be caused by Chinese factories being closed for that week. However, it is reasonable to anticipate that the Hong Kong consolidations will be affected as well as most merchandise shipped out of Hong Kong is now being produced in China. Please feel free to contact us with any questions that you may have. Thanks you for your support and best regards Andreas
