Seajet survives grueling Customs audit!

Dear Customers and Friends of Seajet:

Customs, as we call it (and more formally known as U.S. Customs and Border Protection), does perform audits on every licensed customs broker and their firms, periodically, to assure that they comply with all customs and government regulations.

Such audits are being announced on very short notice. For obvious reasons. Seajet received its notification about 10 days prior to the actual audit, which was performed in our office by 2 customs officers on 18 June 2009.

Prior to arrival at our office, we received a request to make certain files available for review. Those files (customs entries) were randomly selected by Customs and reviewed in detail by the Customs officers during their visit.

Seajet and our entire customs brokerage team, which is managed by

Franco Grutti, Licensed Customs Broker & NCBFAA Certified Customs Specialist

has always prided itself in providing expert advice, paying attention to details and by assuring compliance with all applicable customs and other relevant laws and regulations.

This provides our customers with peace of mind and assurance that all of their goods are classified, correctly.

In addition to Customs, we do regularly deal with other government agencies. For example, FDA, USDA and Fish & Wildlife. Their rules are just as important as the Customs regulations and it is often times necessary to communicate closely with these agencies to assure that each agency clears and releases goods in a timely manner.

All of us at Seajet are proud of our colleagues in the brokerage department because they passed the audit with flying colors!

Customs followed-up on their audit by sending us an official notice, confirming that Seajet is in compliance with all regulations.

We have posted a copy of this letter on this web site and you can view and read it here

Best regards,

Ronald W Hiemann, CEO
