Alert: Peak-Season Surcharge Alert!
Dear Customers: Please be advised that all ocean carriers in the Far East trades have confirmed on very short notice the implementation of the “Peak Season Surcharge” for East bound traffic (Far East to the USA). This year the carriers have two different sets of charges depending on the service:
All Water Service (AWS)
June 15 - July 14, 2006 = US$ 300/20' - 400/40' - 450/40'HQ - 510/45' July 15 - August 14, 2006 = US$ 375/20' - 500/40' - 560/40'HQ - 635/45' August 15 - November 30, 2005 = 450/20' - 600/40' - 675/40'HQ -760/45'
Mini-Land-Bridge (MLB) /
West Coast
June 15 - November 30, 2006 = US$ 300/20' - 400/40' - 450/40'HQ - 510/45'
I am not sure if the carriers will stick by their announcements. Last year every carrier had a different deal with some of them waiving the PSS completely, others reducing it and yet others keeping their PSS as advised. My guess is that the PSS will be reduced for AWS to US$ 400/40' and the PSS for MLB will be most likely further reduced. We'll see..... At least for the moment, the charges will be as described above. Best regards,
